Absolutely Free Sharing Market: April 2nd and April 4th
We are so excited to welcome everyone to the Spring 2026 Absolutely Free Sharing Market! Please scroll down for details in English and Spanish, and if you have any additional questions please email us here: Oly-FreeMarket@proton.me
If you are interested in getting involved, please fill out our volunteer form.
Thank you so much for visiting!
Join us on Thursday, April 2 and Saturday, April 4th, for the third Absolutely Free Sharing Market! (That's right: we're now open for both weekday and weekend shopping!) Hunt for new-to-you treasures, enjoy delicious food, meet your neighbors, or learn a new skill-all ABSOLUTELY FREE. See below for our FAQs:
1. How does it work?
Imagine a free pile outside of someone's house after they finish their spring-cleaning. But instead of one pile in a random spot, we bring tons of piles into a central location and invite the community to take whatever they like!
2. How do I donate, and what do you accept?
We will be collecting donations at the following locations and times:
March 29th
12-4pm
Civic Plaza (near Applebee’s)
521 Sleater-Kinney Rd SE
Lacey
March 30th, 31st, & April 1st
3pm-8pm
Thurston County Fairgrounds
Peterson Barn
3054 Carpenter Rd SE
Lacey
If you wish to donate furniture, we can only accept that at the Fairgrounds drop-offs. Otherwise we accept nearly anything-clothing, decor, tools, toys,
gardening supplies, plant starts! If it's in good shape, we'll probably take it!
Note: We do NOT accept opened or expired personal items like food or makeup, large appliances, printers, medicines, car seats, or anything damaged.
3. What's with the "Learn New Skills" thing?
The AFSMs include skill-sharing! We invite anyone to freely share their time, talents, or knowledge-anything from a list of the best birding spots in the area to a
palm-reading session to a sit-down chat with an experienced knitter who can help you finish the scarf you've been working on since 2013.
4. How can I volunteer?
Please fill out our volunteer form. We're looking for everyone from skill-share experts to "salesfloor"
workers-it takes an army to pull off these events, so please get in touch if you're interested!
5. Is it really free?
Yes. We promise.
Consulta nuestras preguntas frecuentes a continuación:
5. ¿De verdad es gratis? Sí. Lo prometemos.
Nov 22nd Event - Done!
Thanks to the over 1000 of you who attended the Absolutely Free Sharing Market on November 22nd!
We adopted thousands of treasures, spent time with our community, and reduced our collective consumption of new materials. This second free market was so successful, there are already calls for another! (Nothing is firm yet, but we'll start working on it soon!)
FAQ
The information below is subject to change for the next event.- How does the Free Market work?
Imagine one of those free piles you might see outside of someone's house after they finished their spring cleaning. Only instead of one pile, it's hundreds of piles, all in one place, and full of nice-quality, new-to-you items. No one exchanges any money - they just share what they no longer need or want, and take what they do! - What can I bring?
Any items in good working order! Clothes, toys, books, plants, tools, decor, gardening supplies, seeds, pet supplies, furniture, etc. - What can't I bring?
No weapons of any kind, no opened toiletries or food packages, no large appliances or mattresses, and no garbage, please - if something is torn or stained, it's unlikely to find a home! - What skill-sharing is allowed?
We welcome your skills! Can you trim bangs? Sew on a button? Give dog-training advice? Read palms? Please stop by and contribute as much or as little of your time and talents as you'd like! - What happens to the items that don't find a home?
You are welcome to take home anything you find! Items left behind at the end of the day will be cleaned, sorted, and donated to various local charities. - How can I volunteer?
